The latest office project designed by Dariel Studio is located in the downtown of Shanghai. Thomas Dariel, founder and leading designer of Dariel Studio, has been designated to work on the entire space, transforming the original space which boosts brilliant sunshine and an outstanding city perspective, into a stylish, simple, yet comfortable and cosy working space for Liquid Group, an integrated advertising agency.

The design of this office is inspired by the concept of Biomimicry, which is the design and production of materials, systems and technologies based on the solutions that the natural world adopts. In this case, the designer is inspired by “Roots”, “Fungi”, “Coral”, “Succulents”, and interprets their natural systems with design language, to represent the infinite evolution of creativity. In accordance to the flow, the designer naturally arranged this floor of 1200 sqm into 4 main sections, including 4 working hubs, 1 reception, 8 meeting rooms, 1 townhall and 1 pantry.

Widely used wood and white tone, the designer chose low saturation colours to distinguish the sections, and dotted the space with delightful colours to bring out the natural touch of the design. The designer also skillfully paired wood and metal together to boosts the dynamism, also to reduce the weighty sensation and create more space to breathe.

Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai, a creativity driven advertising agency, advocates design and innovation and delivers cutting edge works for their clientele.

Thomas Dariel, the principal designer and founder of Dariel Studio was entrusted with redesigning the entire space, and succeeded in creating an ideal working environment for the W+K team by combining existing features of the space itself with the required functionalities.

In choosing “tree” as the central theme of the working space, Thomas Dariel drew parallels with the core corporate culture: fast growing and never-ending creativity. Designers carefully preserved the beauty and features of the space by playing with the existing open staircase to connect all the spaces across different floors. Inspired by the scenography of branches growing out of a tree trunk, the horizontal and vertical split joint boards connect, cross, and naturally extend to different floors, composing the key visual of the office building. It also indicates the divergent  creativity and imagination.

Cache-cache new concept store opened in January 2016 in Shanghai. Collaboration between the french  fashion brand and Dariel Studio, the Global Harbor store is the first step of a new generation of Cache-cache stores throughout China.

To celebrate its 250th anniversary, Baccarat, the most famous French crystal brand, wanted with their showroom to write a new Chinese chapter in their legendary history. To pay homage to their incomparable heritage while revealing a new image to the Chinese market, they invited Thomas DARIEL, the talented Shanghai-based French designer, to imagine their new space and to create a bridge between the two countries.

Baccarat House is located in the newly renovated ROCKBUND compound. Combining historic and new buildings, luxury stores and cultural venues at the confluence of the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek, Rockbund illustrates perfectly the diversity of Shanghai culture as well as the city‘s timeless elegance. Baccarat House is hosted on the ground floor of a red brick heritage building that remarkably fits the brand’s image. Eliminating mundane and predictable clichés, Thomas Dariel defines the showroom as an elegant Parisian apartment with crafted and textured details yet in a modern and youthful way. And also, it's just the begining of the new collaboration.

Thomas Dariel developed an ideal aesthetic for the new Shanghai office of Mazarine Asia Pacific (a joint venture between Mazarine Group, Trimaran Capital and La Mode en Images), combining industrial loft aesthetic with pure Bauhaus details. Located in the heart of the French concession, the space is hidden in a modern courtyard that reflectsintellectual quietude and edgy features, a perfect combination to host an integrated communication agency dedicated to luxury and premium brands in Asia.

Dariel Studio opens the doors of its new office nested in an elegant old Shanghainese style building - the Villa 621 on Changde Road.

The four-story building layout is typical of old Shanghainese buildings, featuring one room every half floor. Heritage art deco decorative elements were also conserved and fixed to pay homage to the architecture of the 20's.

While keeping and respecting the original character and identity of the house, Thomas Dariel still wanted to transform the existing building into a functional and bright office space. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors have replaced the previous heavy wooden doors allowing natural light to be well diffused into the whole space, warm and vivid colors have been used to bring modernity as well as to divide the building into functional areas, pale-tone wooden floor and stainless steel oversized mirrors have been installed to brighten up to staircase, etc.

Played with the glass-mirror-reflection elements in this exclusive dressing room created by Thomas Dariel, it's a true art piece that each doors of this closet have been designed with two layers, one of glass with engraved lines and below, one of mirror reflection the glass pattern. The customized Taiping carpet and hand-made leather handle make this confidential space very elaborated and sophisticated.
